The Register

The inestimable Register (The Reg) out of jolly olde England has served up another tasty commentary on lifestyles of the rich and famous.  This time it's a mini-profile of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, particularly his recently espoused declaration that he only eats meat that he has dispatched to the hereafter with his own hands.

The usual urbane snarkiness of The Reg is in evidence during this examination of the so-called "mindful eating movement". It's capped off deliciously in the final paragraph with a reference to some down-home wisdom at a San Francisco butcher shop:

Like it or not, Zuckerberg's admission that this year's challenge is to dine only on beings that have perished by his own hands is sure to fan the flames of the never-ending vegetarian-versus-carnivore gobble squabble. It would be un-Reg-like for us to not take a stand, so we'll merely point to a sign we saw in a small San Francisco butcher shop:

If God hadn't intended us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.
